Steak n Shake's business necessitates that candidates possess an entrepreneurial spirit and guest service orientation. All DMDP candidates must have the ability to rapidly progress to multi-unit leadership, assuming full profit and loss responsibility in 12-18 months for 5-10 restaurants with revenues of $10-15 Million. Fast-track DMDP opportunities exist for talented individuals with excellent mental abilities, strong people development skills, extraordinary interpersonal skills and the desire to run a business. An MBA and 2 years general business experience is strongly preferred for these fast-track opportunities. The Steak n Shake Company is currently accepting candidates into its Franchise Candidate Development Program (FCDP). Candidates must have the ability within 24 months to operate a successful franchised unit. Successful candidates learn the entire restaurant operations by working as a Steak n Shake Manager. Each candidate establishes a proven track record as a General Manager by growing sales and profit and by developing crew and management talent at his or her assigned restaurant. Upon successful completion of the program, each candidate selects from available territories (defined by Steak n Shake at that time) to develop a franchised restaurant. The company will facilitate necessary capital/financing.
